The grammar and pronunciation are two of many pillars of the English language. Students think that they need to cram the grammar part and have to devote much time practicing pronunciation. Both of which is not true when you have Eloquence as your tutor. Read the below-mentioned tips and help yourself rectify the mistake you have been doing all this while.
Let’s rectify the grammar first:
Whenever there is a shopping plan we don’t leave a chance to tell someone that we are going to buy stuff! But whenever we tell them this, we say it incorrect. How? Okay, try yourself! If you want to tell someone that you will be going to buy things (shopping) then how will you say this? You may say, “I will be going for shopping” or “I will be going to shopping”. Am I right? But, to your answer both the sentences are wrong. The correct answer doesn’t require any preposition like “to” or “for” in the sentence. The correct answer is; “I will go shopping”.
Now let’s pronounce it correctly:
Try to pronounce the word “Asthma”. You may say it like Aaasthma (stressing upon ‘A’) or may say it like Asthaama (stressing upon ‘th’). For correcting them we need to understand that there are only two forms of English that are acceptable, one is UK English and another is US English. In UK English ‘th’ is silent, thus we say ‘Aesma’. In US English, ‘th’ is again silent but we replace‘s’ with ‘z’. You can try to pronounce Asthmatic in a similar manner.
